Hi, I’m Kristy.
I obtained my Masters in Social work in 2018 and have been working with individuals in a number of capacities since. However, after giving birth to my son in 2020 and experiencing severe postpartum depression I have dedicated my work to supporting other mother’s through postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and perinatal loss. I have had my certification in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International since 2021. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S) as well as a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) provider having completed extensive training through Postpartum Support International. I have completed additional training in advanced grief counseling and hold a certification on Advanced Grief Counseling Support (CAGCS). I also have hold a certificate in couples counseling. I am passionate about supporting couples through the perinatal loss journey.
I aim to emphasize the importance of building a supportive and non-judgmental rapport that allows my clients to feel safe as they work towards their self-potential. The clinical approaches of evidence-based therapies I utilize include: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy. As well as elements of: Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My goal is to apply a client-centered approach focusing on YOUR strengths as catalysts toward change.
In addition to clinical work, I also provide individual and group supervision to Licensed Social Workers working toward independent licensure.
I am very humbled to have the privilege of supporting you and so many other women and their families!
